The Missionary Ministry was founded by the late
Sis. Mary V. Clark, a member of the First Union Baptist Church under the
leadership of Rev. William Brown in 1929.
In the later years our Missionary became inactive.
The late Sister Carrie Kier attended the Tuckahoe Baptist Association of
Virginia; in the president address Sister Kier heard that a church is
incomplete without a Missionary. Mrs. Woodson, president of the
Association asked Sister Kier to try to get the members together. With
the help of Mrs. Woodson, Sister Kier organized the Missionary again.
First Union Baptist Church Missionary Ministry was
reorganized in February, 1961. Many great Christian speakers and members
have kept our Missionary going for 44 years. Our Mission is still
working for the building of God's kingdom and helping others in the
community.
